| Welcome to Thailand! If you are coming to the 20th World Jamboree at the
end of 2002, or you just want to know a bit more about
our country, then you have
come to the right place. Our school has prepared hundreds
of pages which show every aspect of life in Thailand and
the tourist attractions that we have to offer. All of
the links above take you to web sites that between them
have thousands of photographs. New pages and photos are
being uploaded all the time so make sure you come back
to see more! Thailand
is situated in south-east Asia. The shape of the country
looks like the profile of an elephant and is roughly the
same size as France. The countries that border us are
Myanmar (Burma), Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos. There are
just over 60 million people in our country and most of
us are Buddhists. Thai is the national language, though
English is taught in all schools. Thailand is famous for
its spicy food but also for its sports such as Muay Thai
(kick boxing) and Takgraw (a kind of volleyball using
your feet). The geographical features of the country are
very diverse. From forested mountains in the north, fertile
plains in the centre and rain forests and white sandy
beaches in the south. For tourists, there is a lot to
see and do. You can relax on beaches, go scuba diving,
ride an elephant or wander around the many colourful temples
we have.

you visit Thailand, we highly recommend the Lonely
