In late February 2000, five members of
the World Scout Bureau came to Thailand to check on the progress
for the 20th World Scout Jamboree. We joined them on Day Three
(February 22nd) when they visited the campsite near Sattahip. We took about 150 pictures
of the area and we will share just a few of them with you now.

This is an artist's impression of what the
Jamboree site will look like in three years time. The hill at
the bottom of this drawing is where we took the next picture. |

This is an aerial view of the beach and Jamboree
site beyond. The beach is about 1.7 kms long. This whole area
belongs to the Royal Thai Navy. The hill to the left is 168 metres
high. |

This map shows the place where
we were standing to take the above picture. It is about 50 metres
above sea level. It is looking towards Hat Yao which translates
as Long Beach. |
